Let’s take a look at some of the common sports injuries...
Plantar fasciitis, which causes mild to severe heel pain, occurs when the thick band of tissue at the bottom of your heel (called the plantar fascia) becomes inflamed. When you have plantar fasciitis, you can apply ice several times during the day and take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory and pain medications. For plantar fasciitis, your podiatrist may recommend extracorporeal pulse activation technology, called EPAT.

Shin splints, which result when the large bone in the front of your leg (termed the tibia) becomes inflamed. A common condition among runners, shin splints cause leg swelling, recurrent pain, and inflammation. To treat these symptoms, you should apply ice several times each day and take anti-inflammatory medication. Your physician will offer additional treatment options to address this condition.

Ankle and foot fractures are common sports injuries especially if you play contact sports. When you fracture or dislocate a bone, severe throbbing pain can occur, which may increase when you put weight on your foot or ankle. Lack of stability and abnormal movement also may occur. Your podiatrist may recommend wearing a cast, taking prescription anti-inflammatory/pain medication, undergoing physical therapy, and even surgery in some severe cases.
